Upon graduating from Starfleet's Test Pilot Training Academy in New Mexico, Ensign Calm was accepted into Starfleet's elite Test Pilot squad, "The Green Devil Flyers Club," where he served for two years. He was one of the first Test Pilots to fly the Sovereign class starship and has had experience with many of Starfleet Intel's most classified experimental vessels. The new manual helm aboard the Sovereign class starship came about by input from Ensign Calm's test flights.
